The St. Thomas Eagles Rugby team captured their third straight state rugby title this past weekend in Austin, Texas.
In Division I Texas High School Rugby competition, the Eagles beat The Woodlands on Saturday 36-7 in the state semifinal match.

 Rugby Texas honors were announced at the recent Texas High School Championships. Congratulations to all the winners.Special Presidential Awards were awarded to John Shafto in the volunteer category for his selfless service to rugby and Rugby Texas as the organization’s Treasurer, Rookie Rugby trainer extraordinaire, referee and coach. Chandler Clark of St. Pius X HS won in the player category for his commitment to team, school and the community; he has won a full rugby scholarship to Wheeling Jesuit College, and his work with the Make-a-Wish Foundation is only an example of his civic involvement.
